MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) - The state-owned company Belintertrans-Transport and Logistics Center with the participation of Belintertrans-Germany and the United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) is launching a new regular multimodal rail service on the Altynkol-Kaliningrad-Hamburg route, BelTA learned from Belintertrans.
The new rail service will facilitate the freight traffic on the China-Europe route.
The pilot service was operated in August and September. The time of the journey from Chongqing to Hamburg made up 14 days.
The transit time of the new multimodal service will be reduced as the entire route is synchronized within a single technological chain, in which every movement of freighters corresponds to a fixed schedule of the sea line, the press service informed.
At the initial stage trains from China will depart two times a day. The rail service frequency can be increased in the future.
