MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom plans to increase the supplies of the products of its companies to Canada. The issues related to the exports to Canada’s biggest trading networks specializing on the sale of food products from the countries of Eastern Europe were discussed during a business visit of Chairman of Belgospishcheprom Alexander Zabello to Canada, BelTA learned from spokeswoman for the company Anastasia Khobotova.
The delegation comprised representatives of OAO Spartak, OAO Krasny Pischevik, Brest-based distillery Belalko, and Minsk Plant of Sparkling Wines.
“The Belarusian delegation established direct contacts with the representatives of the Ministry of Jobs, Trade and Technology of the Province of British Columbia, discussed prospects for cooperation between Belgospischeprom and the government of this western province of Canada," the spokeswoman said. In particular, the parties talked over the possibilities to increase the supplies of the confectionary products of companies to the Canadian market and considered possible exports of alcoholic beverages. The parties also outlined prospects for cooperation with Canadian exporters of fish and seafood, and concrete steps to expand bilateral cooperation.
