MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian energy company Belenergo and China National Electric Engineering Co. (CNEEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding, BelTA has learned.
The heads of the two organizations took part in the online talks. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, namely: the implementation of the latest energy storage technologies, the use of battery power plants (electric energy storage units) to stabilize and cover peak demand in Belarus, production, installation, operation and maintenance of car charging stations in Belarus. The parties also discussed the promotion of electrical products of Belarusian companies on the Chinese market, the organization of specialized exhibitions and the joint participation of CNEEC and the design and construction organizations of Belenergo in Belarusian and foreign tenders. “All of these areas of cooperation were included in the memorandum of understanding signed after the meeting,” Belenergo stressed.
CNEEC is known in Belarus as the general contractor of the Vitebsk hydropower plant construction project on the Western Dvina River in Vitebsk Oblast. The Vitebsk HPP, with a capacity of 40 MW, was commissioned on 31 July 2017.
