ZHITOMIR, 3 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has signed a contract to deliver a new batch of haul trucks to Ukraine, BelTA learned from BelAZ Director General Piotr Parkhomchik.
“In general, our positions in the Ukrainian market are good. We showed good results last year, having shipped 55 haul trucks worth $49 million. It is very important that the Ukrainian market has continued to develop successfully this year despite some difficulties in the mining industry which caused some markets to shrink. There is no doubt that we will maintain the same level of trade and will sell some 60 trucks worth $49-50 million,” Piotr Parkhomchik said.
He also noted that last year the enterprise achieved a record high volume of trade with Ukraine.
Piotr Parkhomchik also spoke about new contracts that BelAZ concluded in the run-up to the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Zhitomir. “We signed the first contract with the Interpipe company in Kyiv yesterday. It provides for supplying 6,000 train wheels to Mogilev Railway Car Building Works, an affiliate of BelAZ, by year end. We also signed an appropriate contract to receive 20,000 train wheels in 2020,” Piotr Parkhomchik noted.
Moreover, BelAZ representatives met with senior executives of the Metinvest mining company on 2 October. “We made an arrangement to ship ten haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 136 tonnes worth over $12 million. We will supply the batch in Q4 2019 – Q1 2020,” Piotr Parkhomchik added.
