MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Lithuanian Railways (Lietuvos gelezinkeliai) has signed a long-term contract with the Belarusian potash extracting company Belaruskali, BelTA learned from the website of Lithuanian Railways.
“Belarus is one of our main partners in the freight transport sector, therefore long-term contracts with Belaruskali will help us to strengthen competitive positions and plan deliveries,” said Mantas Bartuska, Director General of Lithuanian Railways.
Only short-term contracts with Belaruskali were concluded before. They did not include obligations regarding stable tariffs and guaranteed volumes of goods.
Belaruskali is one of Lithuanian Railways' key clients in the volume of goods. In 2017, Lithuanian Railways transported more than 10 million tonnes of goods of the Belarusian company.
