MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian car factory Unison has started assembling Changan cars, the company’s press service told BelTA.
A compact crossover Changan CS35 Plus was the first car to roll off Unison’s assembly line. The company intends to start making other models in the future as well.
Deputy Director General of Changan International, Director General of OOO Changan Motors Rus Sun Zejun noted that the launch of production in Belarus is another strategically important step in the development of Changan Company. Unison Company has the necessary equipment and experience of making modern automobiles. The company follows strict operation and oversight procedures resulting in high quality of assembly of Changan cars, he said.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SP ZAO Unison Aleksei Vaganov said that cooperation with Changan Automobile Group is of strategic importance for both companies. Unison intends to expand the lineup of Changan cars assembled in Belarus. “Our extensive experience of working with other large automobile brands as well as the factory’s capabilities, the advanced welding and painting shops allow making quality modern cars. We also intend to start making electric cars. The head of state has signed a decree to support the development of electric transport. The decree opens up new market opportunities,” Aleksei Vaganov said.
The Belarusian-British joint venture ZAO Unison was established in 2000 on the basis of the company Ford Union. The company specializes in making cars and refitting special-purpose vehicles and commercial vehicles.
