Belarusian truck maker BelAZ resumes deliveries to Chile

MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has resumed deliveries to Chile, BelTA learned from the company’s website.

Two BelAZ 75581 trucks with the carrying capacity of 90 tonnes are on the way to Latin America. The Chilean company Minera Tres Valles is the buyer. It is the first shipment of Belarusian haul trucks to Chile after a lengthy break.

The company that will use the Belarusian trucks boasts a complete production cycle starting with the extraction of mineral resources and ending with a concentrating plant where cathode copper is made. The company’s underground shaft uses a MoAZ 75290 truck made by a BelAZ branch. That truck is designed to transport rock mass along underground tunnels, in underground workings, and in other kinds of confined space. The new BelAZ trucks will be used in an open pit nearby.

One of the two 90-tonne BelAZ trucks will be put on display during the Exponor Chile 2019 expo in the city of Antofagasta in late May. Exponor is one of the key venues in Chile as well as central and southern regions of Latin America for presenting cutting-edge products and accomplishments in the area of mining industry in addition to presenting promising investment projects. The expo is held once every two years and gathers over 1,000 companies from 30 countries.

BelAZ took part in Exponor 2017. The Belarusian company presented a 1:20 scale model of the truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes. The model could be controlled by a smartphone app. During Exponor Chile 2019 visitors will be able to see a full-size 90-tonne BelAZ truck up close and will be able to fully appreciate the truck’s advantages in full measure, BelAZ representatives believe.
