Belarusian technologies for making loaders in Russian Cherepovets

MOSCOW, 12 April (BelTA) – There are plans to start manufacturing loader-excavators in the Russian city of Cherepovets using modern Belarusian technologies, BelTA has learned.

The agreement on cooperation was signed when a delegation of Russia’s Vologda Oblast visited Belarus. The document was signed by Director of Cherepovets Casting and Mechanical Plant Vladimir Boglayev and Director General of OOO Dorelektromash Yuri Tumakha.

Vladimir Boglayev said: “Within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia we would like to implement an interesting mechanical engineering project. I have to admit that Belarus’ engineering school is one of the world’s strongest. It would not be a good idea to miss out on using this factor for joint business development. Since former natives of Belarus now work to develop the mechanical engineering cluster in Cherepovets, a project involving representatives of Belarus as a country with a well-developed mechanical engineering industry suggests itself.”

Representatives of the Vologda Oblast government noted that Belarus and the Russian region have been cooperating in mechanical engineering for a long time. “We are interested not only in manufacturing but also in the innovative approaches to creating new models because life goes on, future belongs to the vehicles that take into account modern trends such as electric vehicles and electric motors,” noted Vologda Oblast Vice Governor Alexei Kozhevnikov. “We would like to be more than another assembly site. We would like to have an R&D school of our own.”
