GOMEL, 5 January (BelTA) – The first batch of metal products the Belarusian steel mill BMZ exported on 1 January 2021 will be delivered to Spain, BelTA has learned.
A customer in Biscay Province, Spain will receive a batch of rolled metal products, which are intended for automobile engineering industry. This year’s first export batch of BMZ products was made in section rolling mill No.2. This division also shipped a batch of rebars to Israel in the first few hours of the new year. As for Spain, BMZ started regular deliveries of rolled structurals to Spain only in 2020. The company intends to continue working on this market in 2021.
According to provisional data, in 2020 BMZ exported nearly 2 million tonnes of metal products to 53 countries. The company exported over 180,000 tonnes of rolled structurals with the diameter varying from 20mm to 160mm. The growth rate exceeded 125% as against 2019.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMC), is a high-tech Belarusian metallurgical enterprise. It comprises infrastructure shops and four manufacturing divisions connected by one technological chain. The divisions focus on steel smelting, mill products, pipe products, hardware items. BMZ exports more than 80% of its output every year.
