MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – It is the first time OAO Belarusian Potash Company has shipped potassium chloride to China along the Northern Sea Route, the company’s press service told BelTA.
For the first time ever two vessels carrying Belarusian potassium chloride left the Klaipeda port in Lithuania, sailed along the Northern Sea Route (across the Arctic Ocean and via the Bering Strait) to arrive in China on 5 October.
The delivery time was reduced by 1.5 times in comparison with traditional routes. Charter costs were reduced considerably as well. The bold project underlines Belarusian Potash Company’s striving for providing excellent service and makes a considerable contribution to the development of the global strategic initiative Belt and Road.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Potash Company was established in 2013. It is the exclusive exporter of potash fertilizers made by OAO Belaruskali. For many years it has been a leading global exporter of potash fertilizers.
