Belarusian nuclear power plant construction work in H1 2017 summarized
MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Services worth $281.9 million were rendered in H1 2017 as part of the general contract to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Energy Ministry website.
In H1 2017 work continued to build the first and second power-generating units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant as well as the facilities the entire power plant will need. The reactor pressure vessel of the first unit was installed in April 2017 along with four steam generators and an overhead crane of the transport sluice. The welding of the main circulation line began in June.
Work is in progress to install core technology equipment, thermal-mechanical equipment, and electric technology equipment at the first unit and a number of plantwide facilities. Work is in progress to build the internal protective shell in the reactor building of the second power-generating unit.
The construction of eight residential houses in line with this year’s state investment program proceeded in H1 2017. The construction of facilities in the military camp for the military unit in charge of guarding the nuclear power plant continued.
