MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A project to build a Belarusian residential district can be implemented in Kaliningrad, Governor of Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast Anton Alikhanov said at the session of the Belarusian-Russian council on long-term cooperation between Belarus and the Russian region in Minsk on 13 November, BelTA has learned.
According to him, the city authorities can allot a land plot with all necessary infrastructure in the center of Kaliningrad for the Belarusian neighborhood project. The region is interested in the participation of Belarusian specialists in other large-scale construction projects and in Belarus’ assistance as the city is gearing up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Next year Kaliningrad will continue a large-scale program to replace the elevators in residential houses and is set to use around RUB30-35 million for these purposes. A project on setting up a joint assembly of elevators in the Russian region is in the works.
Kaliningrad Oblast seeks closer ties with Belarus in tourism and suggests blanching air service for the convenience of travel.
