MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should focus on increasing the country’s export potential. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the relevant statement during the 17th Assembly of Business Circles on 2 March, BelTA has learned.
The Ministry’s press service said that the speech by Vladimir Makei outlined priorities of foreign trade efforts of the Republic of Belarus. It was stressed that securing the steady increase in the export potential is the main task of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The efforts are viewed as the foundation of balanced foreign trade operations. For instance, thanks to the work done in 2015 Belarus managed to secure a foreign trade surplus.
Vladimir Makei also encouraged the business circles to give feedback to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to explore opportunities of interaction with Belarusian embassies and the national center for marketing and price studies. Belarusian businessmen were invited to contact the interagency council for foreign trade policy. Vladimir Makei mentioned that sales of information technology products by Belarusian small and medium enterprises on foreign markets contained a lot of promise. Vladimir Makei also mentioned the demand for transport, tourism, medical, financial, and consulting services.
