MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – Export of Belarusian goods to China has increased by practically 1.5 times and is moving fast towards the annual target of 100% increase. Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko made the statement while explaining how the reorientation of export flows to the People’s Republic of China is organized, BelTA has learned.

China remains one of the most important strategic partners of Belarus. According to Alesya Abramenko, thanks to the high level of cooperation incremental growth and the advancement of joint trade and economic initiatives are observed. “For the sake of redirecting commodity flows from markets of unfriendly countries to the Chinese market industry-specific import applications have been worked out as well as offers for updating export applications to the People’s Republic of China for this year. Belarusian manufacturers work directly with Chinese chambers of commerce, associations, and enterprises on possible deliveries of technological equipment from China,” the official said.

The sixth session of the trade and economic cooperation commission of the Belarus-China intergovernmental committee took place in May. “As a result our industry-specific government agencies signed memorandums of cooperation with Chinese chambers of commerce. As a result Belarus’ merchandise export to China increased by practically 1.5 times in January-May to exceed $0.5 billion. We have to double merchandise export to China,” the deputy economy minister stressed.

Alesya Abramenko noted that over 100 Belarusian enterprises are now accredited and are intent on working on the Chinese market. “Our goods have won the trust of Chinese buyers. The opening of Belarus’ first national electronic pavilion and an official launch of promotion of Belarusian goods via direct broadcasts on Chinese electronic platforms took place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone in early July. The national pavilion is the first example of how Belarusian products have reached a Chinese marketplace. In essence it is a new model of transboundary electronic trade between Belarus and China,” the official explained.
