MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ will ship €3.9 million worth of vehicles to the Cuban company Transimport in line with the contract signed when a Belarusian delegation visited Cuba, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The delegation included representatives of OAO Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), OAO Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ for short), OAO Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and the export and import insurance company Eximgarant of Belarus. The delegation was led by Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Korchik. During the visit members of the Belarusian delegation met with representatives of the Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment, the Agriculture Ministry, the Transport Ministry, the Construction Ministry, the External Bank of Cuba, the companies Transimport, Tecnoimport, BioCubaFarma, and the representative office of the CEC company.
During the meetings the sides discussed shipments of Belarusian automobiles, tractors, agricultural machines and spare parts, including using export loans and the intergovernmental agreement on mutual shipments. The sides also talked about aftersales service for Belarus tractors and MAZ vehicles in Cuba, prospects of implementing a number of joint projects and the organization of a distribution network for Belarusian companies in Cuba. Apart from that, the possibility of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus granting a credit line to Cuba in 2016 was discussed.
The visit was arranged with assistance of the Embassy of Belarus in Cuba.
