MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ intends to design a special bus for African countries, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Industry Ministry website.
According to the source, this suburban-service bus will be designed bearing in mind peculiarities of African countries. It will be able to move along various roads, including unpaved ones. The bus will boast high road clearance, an easy-to-operate engine, and a comparatively spacious passenger compartment. Apart from that, the bus will be fitted with a powerful air conditioning system to handle hot African weather.
MAZ has already made an experimental bus for Africa in the past. MAZ-131020 is built around a truck chassis with a simple body, baggage space on top of the roof with a ladder. The passenger compartment can carry 65 passengers. The bus boasts off-road capabilities and can go where regular buses dare not.
