MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ will continue delivering vehicles to Ukraine in full after 1 May despite the Ukrainian government’s decision to introduce a special duty on the import of buses, trucks, and special vehicles from Belarus, BelTA learned from the MAZ website.
The import duty will be as high as 35% of the customs value of imported vehicles. MAZ assured that deliveries of vehicles, including passenger vehicles, to Ukraine will continue in full and on time. The official distributor MAZ Ukraine continues working and honoring its commitments to customers, the source assured. All the MAZ Ukraine clients will get reliable and comfortable vehicles in accordance with the contracts.
The Ukrainian market is a strategic one for MAZ. So far MAZ has made and sold about 1,500 passenger vehicles to all the regions of Ukraine. The last three years were particularly productive, with 250 vehicles shipped to Ukraine per annum. Over 8,000 MAZ trucks were sold in Ukraine in the last six years.
MAZ trucks work hard in Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, participate in civil engineering projects and large-scale shipping operations, thus making their contribution to a stronger Ukrainian economy. MAZ buses offer comfortable travels to Ukrainian citizens.
“Over the years of successful bilateral relations it became obvious that there are huge opportunities for future development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine. MAZ is ready for implementing joint projects in various branches of the Ukrainian economy,” the MAZ website reads.
