MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ presented its vehicles at the WASMA 2022 expo in Moscow, the company’s press service told BelTA.

WASMA 2022 was opened in the Expocenter on 21 March. It is the first time MAZ has presented its vehicles at the expo. The products on display include the rear load garbage truck MAZ 5907S2.

The garbage truck model implements the main technical know-hows and is adapted to urban needs. It boasts high maneuverability and carrying capacity. It can collect, compact, and remove about 7.5 tonnes of waste per run. It plays the key role in resolving the problem of trash collection and processing both in Belarus and the CIS states.

The garbage truck can transport 17m3 of household waste. Another 1.8m3 can be stored in the rear load container. The fully loaded weight of the vehicle can reach 20.5 tonnes. The body of the truck looks like an ellipse without additional reinforcing ribs.

The vehicle rests on a MAZ chassis powered by a 240hp YaMZ-53653 engine, which is compliant with Euro-5 emission standards, and operates together with a nine-speed Fast Gear gearbox. The fuel tank can hold 300 liters of fuel.

The utility vehicle can extract trash from any trash container. Once trash is loaded, it is compacted by a special mechanism.

The driver’s cab boasts comfort and ergonomics: it features convenient seats, an air conditioner, a radio, and a rearview camera. Trash can be extracted automatically at a landfill site without the driver having to leave the driver’s cab.

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ is a well-known international brand. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-3, 4, 5, and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and 3,000 modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.

WASMA is an international expo of equipment and technologies for waste recycling and wastewater treatment. Every year Russian and foreign manufacturers and suppliers demonstrate a broad choice of equipment and vehicles for collecting, transporting, sorting, processing, storing, recycling waste and for purifying wastewater to specialists during the expo.

A business program will be held as part of the expo. Leading experts in the sphere of waste management, representatives of government agencies and the business community will make speeches. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko, Russian Natural Resources and Ecology Minister Aleksandr Kozlov, Member of the Technical Regulation Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Nazarenko, and other officials are expected to attend the expo.
