MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Belarusian linen companies are eyeing the Austrian market. Marketing and market trends in Austria have been discussed at a meeting between Belarusian manufacturers and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Belarus Aloisia Worgetter, BelTA learned from the embassy.
“Both Austria and Belarus treat flax as part of economic and cultural legacy from past generations. As we are working towards sustainable development, switching to natural products, healthy lifestyle, and development of cultural traditions, the image of flax in Austria has gained new significance,” the embassy noted.
Aloisia Worgetter and the Austrian Commercial Office in Minsk have organized the first information event to attract Belarusian companies which manufacture linen products to the Austrian market.
The event brought together representatives of nine companies of different ownership forms and from different regions of Belarus, such as the Belarusian Fashion Center, Slonim and Bobruisk factories of art products.
The participants of the meeting also touched upon the state of bilateral economic cooperation, Austrian market trends and direct marketing to promote Belarusian goods on the Austrian market.
