MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - The Belarusian Industry Ministry aims to implement six integrated projects with Equatorial Guinea and supply Belarusian machinery and equipment, BelTA has learned from Vitaly Borchuk, the head of the main department of foreign economic relations of the Industry Ministry.
In particular, Belarus plans to supply engineering goods for mechanization of agriculture, electrification of distant agricultural areas, landscaping, rubbish disposal, construction, fire safety and so on.
The relevant agreements have been achieved after the recent official visit of the Belarusian president to Equatorial Guinea. The delegation of the Industry Ministry was led by Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik.
“A cooperation roadmap for 2024-2026 was signed between Belarus and Equatorial Guinea during the visit. The roadmap covers 15 avenues of cooperation. Six of them relate to the supply of machines made by the companies affiliated with the Industry Ministry and their maintenance," Vitaly Borchuk explained.
He also added that the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Urban Planning and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Corporations of Equatorial Guinea signed two memorandums of cooperation. They provide for the supply of Belarusian utility vehicles and road-building machines, rubbish trucks and special fire-fighting vehicles.
The Belarusian manufacturers offer an integrated solution. Along with the supply of various machines and equipment, they offer a full range of services (provision of spare parts, service and warranty maintenance, training of local specialists in the operation and repair of machines, and, if necessary, providing their own specialists to put machinery into operation and teach them how to use it). This is an important advantage of Belarusian producers. This approach has already proven successful as Belarus suppled its machines to African markets, Vitaly Borchuk said.
“In general, the African market is one of the attractive markets for Belarusian engineering goods. Today Africa is one of the most promising regions on the planet, being of interest to the global business community. Belarus has something to offer African partners, and this cooperation is mutually beneficial. Belarusian industrial flagships are carving out their niches in the market and are appreciated by African consumers. MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ, Gomselmash are well known on the continent. BELARUS tractors are a local buzz. The Industry Ministry is looking forward to constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation. We are open to cooperation. We are ready to bring new technologies and offer various cooperation projects," Vitaly Borchuk concluded.
As BelTA has reported, Belarus will open an embassy in Equatorial Guinea by 1 August 2024. This is specified in the resolution by the Council of Ministers.
