Belarusian Industry Ministry discusses cooperation with Equatorial Guinea

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – A delegation of the Belarusian Industry Ministry led by Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik and representatives of the Trade, Industry, and Business Development Ministry of Equatorial Guinea took part in the first session of the joint working group on manufacturing sector in Equatorial Guinea, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.
Dmitry Kharitonchik stressed that for many years Belarus has been persistently building constructive relations with a number of African countries. He described the African market as a promising one for selling goods made by the Belarusian manufacturing sector. Products made by Industry Ministry enterprises were exported to 17 African countries in 2022.
Dmitry Kharitonchik mentioned concrete proposals and avenues of bilateral cooperation. “Ensuring food security is an important task for the majority of African countries. This is why the Belarusian Industry Ministry is ready to actively cooperate with Equatorial Guinea for the sake of agriculture mechanization,” he said.
Among other promising cooperation avenues he mentioned the construction of facilities for drying and storing grain, sales of various automobiles, road construction machines, Belarusian haul trucks as well as diesel generators and compressor stations, industrial diesel engines.
The deputy industry minister went on saying: “The fact that Belarusian producers offer integrated projects as they export their vehicles, machines, and equipment is an important advantage. They also tend to follow the comprehensive approach, which provides for selling not only vehicles and machines but also spare parts, for providing aftersales and warranty service, for training local specialists how to operate and repair the machines and vehicles. If necessary, Belarusian technicians are sent to commission machines and vehicles and train people how to use them properly.”
Dmitry Kharitonchik assured that the Belarusian Industry Ministry is ready to assist with organizing work with Belarusian producers. “Through joint efforts we will realize all the large-scale projects we intend to accomplish in the interests of citizens of our states,” he concluded.
BelTA reported earlier that a massive Belarusian delegation arrived in Equatorial Guinea on 14 November and started working in Malabo. The delegation includes Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik, representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Education Ministry, heads of the State Committee on Science and Technology, state-run concerns, top officials of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, higher education institutions, representatives of business and financial circles. Industry-specific negotiations are supposed to take place as well as the reconciliation of documents on bilateral cooperation in addition to a number of other practical events.
