MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) - The Belarusian government is preparing a package of proposals to support enterprises and businesses to be submitted to the president, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Today we are convening for the first meeting to discuss the measures proposed by the Economy Ministry to help enterprises go through this difficult period,” Sergei Rumas said.
Next week, the government will hold another meeting and, having taken the necessary decisions, will submit these proposals to the president. “The Economy Ministry has offered a fairly wide range of tools, including tax holidays, credit holidays, and support for individual entrepreneurs. But I will not get ahead of myself, given that my colleagues and I have not yet discussed these measures. On Tuesday, 31 March, the government intends to make a final decision on the measures of support,” the prime minister said.
This would most likely be the first step that would apply businesses, Sergei Rumas said. “Our next steps will depend on how the situation develops,” he added.
