GOMEL, 24 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian manufacturer of agricultural machines Gomselmash will work together with the Chinese corporation Zongshen to set up two factories in China to make harvesters, BelTA learned from Sergei Gapeyev, Gomselmash’s Deputy Director for Regional Sales, Head of the Office for Sales in China.
The factories will be located in Gansu Province and Hebei Province and will make several models of Gomselmash harvesters such as earn corn harvesters and the classic grain harvester Palesse 812. Apart from that, the company is considering assembling forage harvesters and potato harvesters.
A delegation of the Belarusian company has been to China where negotiations with representatives of Zongshen Corporation and the municipal authorities were held. “We felt a great interest in implementing these projects and also received assurances of state support in the matter,” noted Sergei Gapeyev. The sides are about to finish preparing the foundation agreement that is supposed to be signed by the Chinese and Belarusian partners during the state visit of China President Xi Jinping to Belarus.
The operation of the new factories will draw from the experience accumulated by the Belarusian-Chinese joint venture Harbin Dongjin Gomel Agricultural Machine Company (Heilongjiang Province, China), which was established in 2009. The joint venture makes a lot of ear corn harvesters and other agricultural machines designed by Gomselmash. “We consider the agreement we have reached as a high level of trust on the part of the Chinese side. We have confirmed this level of trust over the course of five years of working together with Dongjin Group,” said Gomselmash’s Deputy Director for Regional Sales.
It is worth mentioning that Zongshen Corporation has suggested considering the establishment of another enterprise in the future. The enterprise can be located in Inner Mongolia Province. For the sake of looking for future buyers of the harvesters the Chinese side intends to buy samples of the ear corn harvester and the grain harvester in May 2015 in order to demonstrate them at China’s top agricultural expos.
The Belarusian industrial group Gomselmash was initially established as the Gomselmash factory in 1930. Nowadays Gomselmash is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines in the CIS states and Europe. The company offers self-propelled and towed forage harvesters, grain harvesters, mounted mowers, potato and beet harvesters as well as other products. Gomselmash products are shipped to 22 countries. Gomselmash is one of the world’s top five manufacturers of agricultural machines.
