Belarusian free economic zone eager to partner with European-Asian economic cluster

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – The free economic zone (FEZ) Grodnoinvest intends to become a partner of the European-Asian economic cluster, representatives of the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration told BelTA.

Participation in the project to create the cluster was discussed as Grzegorz Calik, President of the Euro-Asian Foundation for Business Education (EAFBE), visited the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration.

Headquartered in Poland, the European-Asian economic cluster is supposed to enable cooperation between businesses, companies, government agencies, and scientists with a view to implementing joint projects, making investments, advancing foreign trade ties while focusing on linking with projects of the Silk Road Economic Belt. “Participants of the cluster will include representatives from Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and China. FEZ Grodnoinvest and its resident companies have expressed their desire to be part of the cluster,” explained Dmitry Rozhkov, deputy head of the FEZ Grodnoinvest administration.

Grodnoinvest and the Euro-Asian Foundation for Business Education have reached an agreement on cooperation. Interaction in the production sector and logistics as well as the overall advancement of Belarusian-Polish-Chinese business relations were high on the agenda of the talks.

“The Polish side is interested in working with us. It is confirmed by other agreements, too, for instance, the agreement on cooperation between Grodnoinvest and Podlaskie Voivodship. It has a lot to do with Poland’s desire to become one of the main European partners in Asian vector projects. Polish partners are ready to look for a strategic investor for projects not only in Poland but in neighboring countries, too, particularly in areas close to the border. It will open up new advantages for them. It will allow securing the workload for the infrastructure under construction. It will be profitable for us as well,” noted the FEZ Grodnoinvest representatives.

The Euro-Asian Foundation for Business Education has worked in Poland for more than ten years already. The EAFBE is intent on becoming the link between Polish and Chinese spheres of culture, education, and business. The foundation provides educational and consulting services to Polish and Chinese businesses. It organizes congresses and conferences and provides scientific and educational scholarships.
