Belarusian Foreign Ministry to offer seminar on domestic market protection in EEU conditions

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will team up with the Eurasian Economic Commission to organize an education and practice seminar in Minsk on 19 October. The seminar will focus on applying domestic market protection mechanisms in conditions of the Eurasian Economic Union, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 15 October.

The seminar will discuss in detail the application of antidumping, compensatory and special protective measures, including guidelines for preparing petitions to the Eurasian Economic Commission, procedural aspects of the Commission’s investigations, and how the final decisions are made as a result of such investigations.

Apart from that, plans have been made to discuss the signing of preferential agreements on free trade with third countries, measures to protect the domestic market of the Eurasian Economic Union in accordance with the agreement signed on 29 May 2015 to enable free trade between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states on one side and Vietnam on the other side.

The seminar is expected to gather representatives of ministries, concerns, the Minsk city administration and the oblast administrations of the country, administrations of special economic zones, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of about 80 Belarusian manufacturers and exporters.
