MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – Belarusian enterprises and organizations will take part in the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) due in Shanghai on 5-10 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Consulate General in Shanghai.
Belarus' Consul General in Shanghai Valery Matsel met with Deputy Governor of Xuhui District of Shanghai Wang Hongwei to discuss matters regarding the preparations for the expo. Valery Matsel informed Wang Hongwei about the way Belarusian enterprises and organizations are gearing up for such a large-scale event.
The parties considered ways to step up bilateral cooperation between Xuhui District of Shanghai and Partizansky District of Minsk. Consideration was also given to the participation of Xuhui District companies in the Minsk-Shanghai Business Forum which will be held during Minsk Days in Shanghai. The preparations for a visit of a Minsk delegation led by Minsk Mayor Anatoly Sivak to Shanghai in November were also on the agenda of the meeting. Taking part in the meeting was also Belarus' Consul Maksim Iosko.
The 1st China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai in 2018. The showpiece event is by right called the event of the year in international trade. China, the world’s largest exporter, has started to tout its role as a global importer.
