MOSCOW, 8 September (BelTA) – The products of the Belarusian mechanical engineering industry are on demand in Tatarstan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov told the media after his meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko on 7 September, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of Tatarstan, the country uses the Belarusian mechanical engineering products, especially those for the agro-industrial sector. “We have held Field Days this year and our Belarusian partners showed their best at the events,” he noted.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, there is a joint company in Tatarstan that produces MTZ tractors. In his words, there are plans to expand the production. Apart from that, there are interesting projects in part of the supplies of oil products and raw hydrocarbons.
Igor Petrishenko and Rustam Minnikhanov discussed Belarus-Tatarstan cooperation in industry, agro-industrial sector and road and utilities sectors, passenger transport. Special attention is paid to the activity of the MTZ-ElAZ Trading House as a key company that assembles and sells MTZ tractors and other Belarusian equipment to the Volga Federal District, the aftersales service for the Belarusian equipment. The parties talked over the delivery of passenger transport for the needs of the Tatarstan capital Kazan and other cities of the country, and also the strengthening of cooperation between KAMAZ and Belarusian producers of vehicle parts.
Rustam Minnikhanov also got familiar with the historical part of the Belarusian embassy in Russia, its business and cultural center and signed the Book of Distinguished Guests.
