MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Cairo will host a session of the Belarusian-Egyptian joint trade commission on 14 to 15 March, BelTA learned from spokesperson for the Belarusian Trade Ministry Yelena Malinovskaya.
In the run-up to the session, the Belarusian ministry hosted a meeting of the Belarusian part of the commission comprising representatives of some ministries, companies, the National Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, and other parties concerned.
“The meeting discussed promising areas of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Egypt, challenges of doing business with Egyptian partners, and ways to overcome them,” Yelena Malinovskaya noted.
The participants prepared a draft protocol and agenda for the upcoming session that will be sent to the Egyptian side for approval in the near future. Besides, a list of agreements and memoranda expected to be signed during the session will be forwarded to Egyptian partners. The composition of the Belarusian delegation and the list of events to be held as part of the session, including a business forum for Belarusian and Egyptian businessmen and a session of the joint working group on industrial cooperation, were approved. Finally, the procedure for addressing the most urgent issues that need to be discussed with Egyptian government bodies and organizations was developed.
