MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - Belarus Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Alexander Opimakh was elected Vice President of Trade and Development Board of the United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD), BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 63rd session of the UNCTAD which is running in Geneva on 5-9 December, is scheduled to discuss the evolution of the international trading system, investment for development, UNCTAD contributions to the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic and social fields, Reports of the Working Party on the Strategic Framework and the Programme Budget for 2017.
A number of decisions on the future work of UNCTAD are expected during the session.
