Belarusian companies viewed as potential suppliers of components for John Deere

MOSCOW, 3 August (BelTA) – Belarusian companies may be added to the global list of companies supplying components to John Deere Company, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.

Cooperation of Eurasian Economic Union mechanical engineering companies with foreign producers of agricultural machines was the main theme as John Deere Company experts visited Belarus. The visit was organized by the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The week-long visit ended on 3 August. While in Belarus a joint delegation of the Eurasian Economic Commission and John Deere Company visited the first six mechanical engineering companies.

Nikolai Kushnarev, Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said: “Our goal is to use Eurasian integration in practice in order to step product localization in the Eurasian Economic Union and to make our manufacturers part of international manufacturing chains. Starting the production of analogs of foreign components for agricultural machines in the Eurasian Economic Union is one of the most promising directions for developing the agricultural machinery engineering industry.”

John Deere Company experts examined the technological standards of the Belarusian companies and the compliance of their quality management system with world standards. Belarusian companies may be included into the list of global suppliers of components to John Deere enterprises, which are located in 37 countries.

As a result of the visit the John Deere Company experts praised the eagerness of the Belarusian companies to enter manufacturing cooperation partnerships and their readiness to improve business processes accordingly. The experts also noted the availability of equipment able to make world-level components and the availability of quality management system certificates. All these factors will allow enabling uninterrupted deliveries of guaranteed-quality products.

The John Deere Company experts will prepare a comprehensive report, which will be forwarded to the industry ministries of the Eurasian Economic Union member states for the sake of working out recommendations on improving manufacturing and management processes and getting the enterprises ready for operation as part of international manufacturing cooperation chains.

The visit to Belarus was organized within the framework of the memorandum on cooperation and the roadmap on implementing the memorandum, which the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Agricultural Machinery Association (Germany) had signed. The Agricultural Machinery Association is part of Germany’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA).
