MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) - Belarusian companies have signed a number of contracts at the 22nd International Exhibition on Food, Ingredients and Food Technologies - UzFood 2023 which took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 28-30 March, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exposition of Belarusian manufacturers Made in Belarus was awarded a special award for the best national stand.
“The market of Uzbekistan is an important area for the further development of Belarusian exports. The main task for Belarusian producers was to introduce visitors and residents of Uzbekistan with a wide range of products, negotiate with potential partners, explore the market, trends and offers of competitors. Importers were offered various types of sausages, meat delicacies, smoked meats, semi-finished products, cheeses, butter, cottage cheese, milk and many more,” Belinterexpo said.
Thus, Grodno meat processing plant concluded a contract for the supply of meat products worth $500,000 and Minsk margarine plant signed a contract for the supply of its products worth RUB10 million.
Minsk Dairy Plant No.1 held talks on increasing sales to its key partners in Uzbekistan, in particular, the supply of butter and skimmed milk powder, and also concluded a contract for the supply of dairy products.
Bellakt company discussed opportunities for increasing sales of its products and supplies of dried baby food. An agreement was reached to supply its curd desserts and powdered milk, including lactose-free, to Uzbekistan. Molochny Mir signed an agreement to supply 2,400 tonnes of dry whey and 1,200 tonnes of milk powder.
The participation of Belarusian companies in the UzFood exhibition has already become traditional. Plans are in place to showcase a bigger exposition of Belarusian manufacturers, Made in Belarus, at the next edition of the exhibition.
