MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Plans are in place to export Belarusian butter and milk powder to Russia’s Yaroslavl Oblast via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE). The relevant agreement was reached during a visit of Yaroslavl Oblast’s delegation to BUCE, BelTA learned from BUCE’s press service.

One of the leading manufacturers of fermented dairy products and ice cream of Yaroslavl Oblast expressed interest in buying large batches of butter and milk powder via BUCE to satisfy its demand for high-quality raw materials. The company is also mulling over using BUCE’s mechanism of transit transactions to sell finished products to China.

BUCE is ready to help companies get access to the markets of Belarus and third countries that BUCE already cooperates with, Deputy Chairman of BUCE’s Board Aleksei Matsevilo stressed. According to him, this year, butter export to Russia is growing at a record rate. In H1, supplies of butter soared more than sixfold, both in natural terms and in monetary terms. “The ‘Made in Belarus’ brand drives sales, and the demand from Russian customers is very high. At the same time, BUCE is ready not only to supply your enterprise with raw materials, but also to facilitate export of your finished products. As far as I know, China is one of the main trading partners of Yaroslavl Oblast. It is also one of key markets for BUCE. We have been working on it since last year. I believe that Chinese companies accredited at BUCE will take interest in your dairy products,” Aleksei Matsevilo noted.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry, and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
