MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese joint venture OOO Zoomlion-MAZ has started mass production of automobile cranes with the lifting capacity of 60 tonnes, BelTA has learned.
The new automobile cranes are assembled at premises of the Mogilevtransmash company in Mogilev. The vehicle borrowed the CIS’ best chassis from the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ and modern mounted equipment from Zoomlion Corporation. The assembly process is highly localized: the joint venture has designed a new automobile crane, which does not copy any other model in the world, said Zoomlion-MAZ representatives.
The crane can lift 60 tonnes of weight as high as a 20-story building. In other words, it can lift a rail tank car, a combat tank, or five dump trucks at once.
The 60-tonne automobile crane is fitted with a lifting arm able to reach as high as 57.8 meters above the ground. The lifting arm is rigid in order to do the job with precision in strong winds. The driver’s cab can be tilted by 20 degrees for a better view and is fitted with an air conditioner. The crane is controlled using hydraulic joysticks.
The new automobile crane will sell in Belarus and abroad. The portfolio of orders for the first few months is full. In particular, these cranes will be shipped to buyers in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. Kazakhstan is also curious about the new product.
Zoomlion-MAZ Director Yuri Pivovarov said: “The launch of production of ZMC-60 cranes is a remarkable event for the Belarusian automaking industry because automobile cranes with such a large lifting capacity has not been mass produced in Belarus before. The new product has met a strong interest on the home market and foreign ones, particularly ex-USSR countries. We intend to use the new product to export more vehicles to more destinations. As far as value for money is concerned, ZMC-60 is virtually in a class of its own in the region. So the prospects look promising.”
The automobile crane ZMC-60 will be unveiled before the general public during the international civil engineering expo Budpragres 2018, which is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 4-7 September.
