Belarusian car maker BelGee eager to up assembly localization rate of popular Chinese crossover

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – SZAO BelGee intends to increase the level of localization of the crossover model Geely Coolray (SX-11), BelTA learned from the company’s Director Gennady Svidersky on 10 March.

The crossover Geely Coolray was introduced in Belarus in February 2020 and enjoys a steady demand. “The Coolray model is very popular. We already have plans to start performing welding and painting operations as part of the Coolray assembly process, in other words, the full fabrication cycle. We can see the model fits the demand just right. Respectively we are going to invest in full fabrication preparations,” Gennady Svidersky said.

The Coolray model boasts an automatic parking system, smart low-beam and high-beam lights. It is a crossover with a front-wheel drive, 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and a 7-speed robotized transmission. The vehicle consumes 6.1 liters of fuel per 100km. The car is available in two variants on the Belarusian market – Comfort and Flagship.
