MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - Belarus is opening its single-brand stores in Russia and plan to develop branded trade this year, head of the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina said in an interview to STV TV channel.
“In 2023 we opened two stores Da Domu in Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. We plan to open eight more such stores in Russia by December 2024. In addition to Da Domu stores, Belarusian companies are opening their own single-brand stores and plan to develop branded trade this year. We have come to a clear understanding that working only through wholesale links in the Russian Federation is not the kind of marginal income we would like to have,” she said.
Bellegprom also continues developing industrial cooperation. “We sell (if we take the entire light industry of the country) to 95 countries. The main share in the export structure is, of course, the Russian Federation. The industry also ships goods to Asian countries: Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and also Uzbekistan. There are certain niche goods that sell well to Uzbekistan. These are Orsha fabrics and linen. We also sell our tableware to Asian countries. This is, for example, Dobrush Porcelain Factory. Of course, like any other industry, we have a task to develop cooperation with far away countries. The work has slowed down due to sanctions, but still there are shipments of goods of, for example, Orsha Flax Factory to European countries. The factory ships to France, Germany and Belgium,” the head of the concern said.
