MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash will ship 29 trolleybuses worth a total of €5.5 million to Ukraine in 2019, Belkommunmash representatives told BelTA.
Belkommunmash has contracted to deliver 29 Model 321 12-meter-long trolleybuses worth €5.5 million to the Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankovsk. The company intends to ship the trolleybuses in March-April 2019. The company designers are introducing some minor modifications to match the customer’s requirements. Manufacturing will begin in early 2019 at the earliest.
The Ukrainian city will buy the Belarusian trolleybuses using money borrowed from the EBRD as part of an urban electric passenger transport renovation program. Many Ukrainian cities intend to buy rolling stock using the program, the source noted. The Belarusian company has sold 47 Model 321 trolleybuses to Odessa in the past.
A Belarusian-Ukrainian joint venture OOO BKM-Ukraine was registered in Lutsk in 2017. Belkommunmash’s share in the company’s charter capital stands at 24.99%. The joint venture has assembled and shipped 11 Model 321 trolleybuses to the city of Dnepr so far this year.
Belkommunmash is a leading manufacturer of ground urban electric transport in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The company offers trolleybuses, passenger tram cars, and electric buses of the regular and increased capacities.
