MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ is preparing an underground dump truck for shipment to Chile, the company’s press service told BelTA.
According to the source, Chilean mining companies have expressed a strong interest in BelAZ’s underground vehicles. Following the relevant agreement BelAZ will ship a MoAZ-75290 underground dump truck with the carrying ability of 25 tonnes to a Chilean mining company for field trials.
According to the BelAZ press service, the vehicle boasts improved maneuverability in confined space and a minimal turning radius. The vehicle boasts smooth movement and can climb over obstacles as high as 200mm without separating the wheels from the ground.
The MoAZ-75290 underground dump truck is powered by a medium-speed diesel engine from Cummins with liquid cooling and a linear cylinder arrangement. The engine has turbocharging and aftercooling. The vehicle is certified for underground operation in line with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) requirements and has an official approval of the EU Stage 3A, U.S. Tier 3 type.
BelAZ made sure the driver will enjoy comfortable working conditions. The vehicle has been fitted with an all-metal cab with noise and vibration insulation and all the necessary instruments and systems to warn the driver about possible emergencies. The dump truck is fitted with FOPS and ROPS safety systems, an air conditioner, heating and ventilation systems. Cameras in front of and at the back of the truck offer optimal vision of the workspace.
According to BelAZ, the Chilean side has expressed interest in buying load-haul-dumpers MoAZ-4035 with the carrying capacity of seven tonnes, a MoAZ-40550 load-haul-dumper with the carrying capacity of 9 tonnes, and the underground dump truck MoAZ-65010.
