Belarusian Amkodor, Sinomach Heavy Industry to make excavation machines
MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor and the Chinese company Sinomach Heavy Industry intend to set up a joint venture to make excavation machines, representatives of the Belarusian company told BelTA.
According to the source, the two companies have held large-scale talks lately. A protocol of intent to cooperate in making excavation machines was signed as part of the talks. In particular, plans have been made to build a joint enterprise in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
The project will be financed by the Belarusian and Chinese companies in equal measure. The schedule for launching the joint venture is very tight. The sides have already set up working groups to implement the project. The joint venture is supposed to start making three excavator models and two bulldozer models in a year. The joint venture will offer products for the Eurasian market under the Amkodor-Sinomach brand. The brand Sinomach-Amkodor will be used for the markets of Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
BelTA has been told that the addition of two more kinds of excavation machines to Amkodor’s product range will allow the company to sell full packages of road construction technologies instead of individual machines. The novelty will greatly improve the competitive ability of the Amkodor brand.
