ISLAMABAD, 5 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company OAO Amkodor will start making utility vehicles in Pakistan within one month. The company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Alexander Shakutin made the statement during the fourth Belarus-Pakistan business and investment forum on 5 October, BelTA has learned.
According to the source, this year Amkodor has acquired a share in the tractor factory Fecto Belarus Tractors. Soon the company will start making utility vehicles in Lahore, Pakistan. “I think the enterprise will start working within one month,” said Alexander Shakutin.
Initially the enterprise in Pakistan will make loaders of various modifications.
This year has been quite successful for Belarusian Amkodor. “We adapted and started shipping hydraulic components to Pakistan’s aftermarket, with $500,000 worth of merchandise sold so far. A contract to sell $1 million worth of hydraulic components to the tractor factory in Lahore has been signed. I think we will be able to sell $5-10 million worth of hydraulic components alone very soon,” said the Chairman of the Amkodor Board of Directors.
