MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have so far harvested more than 5 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 7 August, Belarus harvested more than 1.5 million hectares of grain (except for maize, buckwheat and millet), which makes 72.8% of the planted area.
Brest Oblast remains a leader with its harvest 95.3% complete. The oblast has produced over 1.146 million tonnes of grain. Grodno Oblast has harvested 83.6% of its areas (more than 1.036 million tonnes of grain). Minsk Oblast has harvested 72.7% of its areas, producing more than 1.26 million tonnes of grain.
Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 69.3% complete (517,500 tonnes). Mogilev Oblast has harvested 67.8% of its areas, making 552,800 tonnes. Vitebsk Oblast has cut 49.4% of its areas to produce 547,900 tonnes of grain.
The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 66.2% (539,600 tonnes) complete.
