“Br620 million was allocated to finance small business in 2017. The bank plans to earmark up to Br1 billion for small and medium-sized enterprises in 2018,” Viktor Ananich said.
He stressed that business loan interest rates are “quite acceptable”. Belarusbank plans to offer financing for a period of up to ten years with a certain grace period on principal payments. “Today there is a product available for both small and medium-sized business. We hope that the entrepreneurship development ordinance will encourage people to start a small business and boost the demand for Belarusbank’s services. Today we have no problems with resources. The main thing is to have good projects,” Viktor Ananich added.
As of today, Belarusbank employs about 19,500 professionals. According to Viktor Ananich, staff optimization in 2018 will be mainly associated with the establishment of a non-banking financial organization Belinkas Group. “In other words, some of our employees will switch to a new organization. The optimization will be based on new sales technologies, yet with focus on natural processes, such as retirement and transfer to another job. This will be a seamless process,” the executive clarified.
