HANOI, 9 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Vietnam agreed to step up efforts to bolster trade and investment, to ensure the trade balance, Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang said after the talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 9 December, BelTA has learned.
The President of Vietnam pointed out a special importance of the visit of the Belarusian head of state to Vietnam since it takes place after the recent inauguration of the Belarusian President and in the run up to the important national event in Vietnam. “The visit testifies to the strong political resolution of the sides to strengthen and promote traditionally friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between the countries,” he said.
Truong Tan Sang stressed that the talks were open and efficient; the sides informed each other about the internal situation, evaluated the results of cooperation, and determined the priorities of cooperation in the near future. “Belarus and Vietnam have favorable conditions for making bilateral cooperation more dynamic, efficient and comprehensive,” he stressed.
The sides agreed to support each other at international forums, in particular, in the United Nations, the Non-Alignment Movement.
The talks focused on the increase in the trade turnover, trade balance, and investment promotion. The sides agreed to raise import and export, enhance industrial cooperation.
“I am convinced that the implementation of the documents which have been signed today will stimulate cooperation in all avenues,” Truong Tan Sang said.
