MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The manufacturing industry performed well in 2022 and showed good results against all odds, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik told journalists prior to the meeting of the final collegium of the Industry Ministry, BelTA has learned.
“Despite all the difficulties, various barriers and obstacles, the industry performed at the best of its capabilities by and large and showed a very good result in 2022. In particular, the Industry Ministry fulfilled almost all key indicators, showed very good dynamics in output and exports where the growth was estimated at 15%. This is a very decent result, as enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry worked highly efficiently in 2021,” Piotr Parkhomchik said.
According to him, the situation was also rectified in the light industry. “In the second half of 2022, the light industry began to grow both in terms of output and exports. For the past six months, it showed consistently positive performance and increased output by 3.9 percentage points. Bellegprom Concern enterprises also performed well in January this year. According to preliminary estimates, they posted a 5.5% growth year-on-year,” the deputy prime minister said.
Piotr Parkhomchik noted that in January the Industry Ministry posted an output growth of 4.9%.
“This year we already see that the situation is getting better at Belneftekhim Concern. In January the concern achieved a 2-3% growth. This dynamics will remain in place in the future,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
“We don’t know what else the so-called unfriendly countries are up to. Yet, the main thing is that all factories are working and producing goods that sell well. People get paid, the atmosphere at enterprises is great,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
