MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik has held a meeting with Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov in Tashkent, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.
The parties discussed issues related to the implementation of agreements reached during the visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Uzbekistan, and the second forum of regions of the two countries.
The parties focused on further intensification of cooperation. The ministers confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding practical cooperation, strengthening and realizing the economic potential of interaction between Belarus and Uzbekistan.
Belarus maintained a positive trend in industrial cooperation with Uzbekistan in 2023. Trade of the Industry Ministry's enterprises with Uzbekistan increased by a third compared to 2022, including an increase in exports by almost 45%. Mutual trade figures indicate a high degree of interest of the parties in further developing, strengthening, and expanding Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation. Industrial cooperation is not limited to mutual supplies of products. Industrial cooperation has traditionally been one of the priority areas of bilateral interaction.
