MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov of Uzbekistan to discuss ways to develop cooperation in tourism, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
"The parties expressed interest in expanding tourist exchanges between Belarus and Uzbekistan, mutual promotion of tourist packages in their countries and creating, taking into account the logistical capabilities, a joint tourist product ‘Uzbekistan-Belarus’ for tourists from third countries," the embassy said.
Ambassador Leonid Marinich extended an invitation to Uzbek athletes to make use of sports facilities in Belarus for joint training camps to prepare for the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. Belarus expressed its readiness to consider counter-proposals on the use of the sports infrastructure of Uzbekistan for the training of both professional and amateur athletes.
"Agreements have been reached to exchange the calendars of international and open competitions held in Belarus and Uzbekistan in 2022 for the participation of athletes of the two countries," the diplomatic mission added.
The parties also discussed the supply of Belarusian sets of wooden houses for tourist and recreational zones of Uzbekistan.
