MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Ambrazevich met with Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Yuko Yasunaga in Vienna on 27 September, BelTA learned from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to International Organizations in Vienna.
Yuri Ambrazevich pointed to the importance of UNIDO’s efforts to support the industrial development of middle-income countries and to facilitate the transition to new environmental standards and technologies.
In addition, the parties discussed UNIDO’s ongoing projects in Belarus, in particular, the project in the field of smart manufacturing running in Brest. The parties confirmed their interest in launching a new project in Mogilev Oblast modeled on the project in Brest, as well as a project in the field of eco-industrial parks.
