MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – The customs services of Belarus and Turkey agreed to simplify customs formalities with a view to reduce time spent for customs clearance on the border. The matter is envisaged in the intergovernmental agreement on the mutual trade assistance system. The document was signed by Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko and Turkey’s Minister of Customs and Trade Bulent Tufenkci, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Customs Committee.
In line with the agreement the customs bodies of the two states will share adequate information on the movement of goods and transport vehicles.
“The document envisages the simplification of customs formalities with the aim of reducing the time spent on the customs clearance of goods at the border. The customs services of Belarus and Turkey will develop a six-month pilot project once the document comes into effect,” the State Customs Committee said.
The agreement is aimed at boosting mutual trade and the creation of additional competition edge for economic entities of the two countries.
