MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus will step up efforts to increase the number of flights operated by foreign air carriers to the airports of Belarus in 2015, BelTA learned from the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry.
In particular, there are plans to enhance cooperation with Dynamic Airways (the United States), El Al (Israel), SCAN (Kazakhstan), Ukraine International Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways.
According to the press service, in 2014 Belarus started to work with two new airlines, namely Azerbaijan Airlines (Azerbaijan) and Rossiya Airlines (Russia).
Apart from that, the Transport and Communications Ministry is eager to branch out into new markets of air transportation in 2015. Specialists said that the national air carrier Belavia is planning to open the new regular flight Minsk-Almaty-Minsk.
According to the aviation department of the Transport Ministry, 19 airlines operate regular passenger flights to the National Airport Minsk. Flights from Yerevan to Amsterdam and Kaliningrad, from Tbilisi to London, Helsinki, Rome, Hannover, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Riga, from Berlin to Yerevan and Astana, from Frankfurt to Tbilisi, from Paris to Tel Aviv, from Rome to Novosibirsk and Moscow, from Tehran to Amsterdam, Stockholm, Helsinki, Moscow, St. Petersburg travel via Belarus.
