MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Tractors of the Belarus brand have been put into service by Kiev’s utility providers, BelTA learned from the website of the Kiev city administration.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klichko personally examined the 30 tractors, which are meant to clean sidewalks and backyards during the autumn-winter period. “These modern automated machines will greatly ease up the workload of street sweepers. When it snows, they will help more effectively work in order to clean backyards and sidewalks in Kiev,” he remarked.
Vitaly Klichko rode one of the tractors and noted that every utility worker, who will operate the new machines, will get a comfortable experience. After that the city mayor handed over the keys to representatives of the utility providers from the city’s districts.
“I can say that the vehicles are quality ones. These tractors will be used by utility providers. They will be used to clean not only central thoroughfares but also backyards in every district,” stressed Vitaly Klichko.
The acquisition of the tractors is the first renewal of the vehicle fleet of the utility providers in many years. The vehicles were purchased via a tender, during which Ukrainian and foreign vehicles were represented. The offer made by Promagroleasing Ukraine, which is the official representative of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) in Ukraine, turned out to be the most economically effective.
Earlier the Kiev administration presented the acquired snow-removing vehicles in the city’s streets.
