Belarus to take part in Timber Expo in UK

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ timber industry companies will debut in the international Timber Expo in the United Kingdom, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom.

The expo will run in Birmingham from 10 to 12 October. The concept of the Belarusian pavilion has been designed and the visit program of the official Belarusian delegation is ready. It includes events, negotiations, and business meetings. The Belarusian side is now busy preparing presentations, information and advertising materials, and also working on the PR campaign.

The Belarusian exhibition will be organized under the auspices of the Bellesbumprom concern in cooperation with the Belinterexpo exhibition company. It is going to comprise exhibits of five organizations: Belarusian Forestry Company, the wood particleboards manufacturer Ivatsevichdrev, Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, BellesExport, and the cement chipboard manufacturer CSP BZS.

There are also plans to arrange a business matchmaking session powered by the Belarusian and British chambers of commerce, and also a separate presentation of Belarus’ woodworking industry, Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, and relevant special exporters.

Timber Expo is the largest forum of its kind in the UK, held during the UK Construction Week which unites over 650 exhibitors with an audience of over 30,000 visitors.

According to Bellesbumprom’s press service, the Belarusian manufacturers view the UK as a promising and attractive market. The UK is a net exporter of a whole range of woodworking products. In 2016, the country imported $6.6 billion worth of these goods. It also imports forest products, wood fuel, plywood, particle boards, fiberboards, furniture, and other products.
